PRACTICE OF AWAKENING

Like so many of us, I came to yoga during a period of transition. I was struggling, I was lost. I didn’t know who I was, why I was here, what I was doing with my life. I was stuck in one of those dark nights of the soul, spinning my wheels, and the only way I finally clawed my way out was through yoga.

I had never devoted myself to something before, but I knew in my heart yoga was something different. It was something I needed. I knew if I kept showing up and practicing, it would change my life. Yoga saved me. It helped me awaken to who I really am and my soul’s path.

COME AS YOU ARE, BRING IT ALL

Yoga has always been a practice of meeting ourselves where we are, whatever beautiful hot mess that may be. Can we show up fully and embrace all of who we are? Can we love the shadow parts of ourselves that we usually hide from the world, just as fiercely as we love the light?

Yoga is a practice of remembering our power, our inner fire, our resiliency, but also our tenderness, our compassion, our love, the full spectrum of who we are.

INTUITIVE FLOW

After so many years of feeling numb and dis-embodied, I’ll never forget what it felt like to finally feel at home within myself. To feel fully embodied, to stop doubting myself and instead trust my intuition. To love myself.

My yoga practice and all of my offerings were birthed from my own powerful healing journey, and with it realizing that my soul’s path is sharing this practice with others. I’m forever a student and I definitely don’t have it all figured out. I am humbly walking this path of self discovery with you.

Intuitive Flow is my love letter to this practice. It is a way of reclaiming our embodied self knowing, of listening and responding to sensation, somatic feedback and our inner wisdom. I call it reconnecting with the the inner guru: the one who shows you the way.

I truly believe you will always be your own greatest healer.

I am here to hold space for you to remember and re-awaken to who you are.

ABOUT ME:

I grew up in rural, coastal Maine. I was always called to be a teacher and a healer, I just didn’t know what form it would take. In college, I immersed myself in dance, pilates, art, and philosophy. I moved to California after graduating and completed my initial 200 hour certification in 2011 with Tracey Rich and Ganga White of the White Lotus Foundation, followed by advanced studies under their guidance.

I began studying with Shiva Rea in 2014 and completed my 500 hour certification under the Prana Vinyasa tradition, as well as an initiation into Kalaripayattu in Kerala, India. I received my Shamanic Reiki I & II attunement in Bali with Devi Ma, as well as my Reiki Masters with Melanie Koch. I incorporate these energetic, subtle and astral body healing techniques into all my offerings. In 2021 I completed a 300 hour advanced training with Jason Crandell that focused on yoga philosophy, modern asana alignment, biomechanics, anatomy, and injury-management techniques.

Besides my beloved private and public class offerings, my soul’s path, my dharma is leading my empowering Embodying Shakti ritual retreats, monthly Moon Circle gatherings, and my Intuitive Vinyasa Flow RYS 200hr teacher trainings locally and globally.

From the moment we came together for our opening ceremony, I knew this experience was going to be lifechanging! I was right. Like Rachel Wilkins, her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training program is very special indeed. She has created a beautiful, encouraging, and inclusive learning environment where she thoughtfully holds space for each of her precious students. Each time we gathered, whether in person or remote, the space felt safe, engaging and accessible. Rachel has a holistic approach to teaching, always inviting us to do the work, the self-study, while purposefully building us through the history/ culture, spirituality, and philosophy of yoga.

Despite the pandemic and its myriad of variables at play, I always felt held, heard, and above all else, seen, which empowered me to freely express my authentic self. Ultimately, I am beyond ecstatic to call myself a graduate of Rachel Wilkins hybrid YTT program. I truly believe that I am a part of the new paradigm of yoga teachers and Rachel is the absolute perfect person to have helped us elevate not only ourselves, but our communities as well. I have been forever changed for the better by this unforgettable and profound journey, and am grateful for the invaluable connections I have made. Like Rachel, I will continue to lead by example, with integrity, inclusiveness, and always from my heart.
— Shannon Stone, 2020 YTT graduate

I was lucky enough to discover Rachel’s Intuitive Flow class back in 2016 and have been attending her classes and workshops ever since. She is an astoundingly talented teacher and carries a kindness with her at all times.  Her beautiful flows help you feel centered, all while breaking a lot of sweat. It is rare to meet a teacher as devoted to yoga and to her students as Rachel is. Without a doubt, I knew Rachel would be someone I wanted to learn from in order to develop my personal yoga practice. If you are interested in teaching yoga or to simply deepen your practice, then taking the 200-hour YTT with Rachel will expand your knowledge on choreographing a thoughtful flow and open you up for a more creative practice.
